What this is
Hantavirus Tracker is an independent, community-maintained dashboard aggregating publicly available data about the 2026 MV Hondius hantavirus cluster. It is not affiliated with WHO, CDC, ECDC or any government health agency. The goal is to present verified information clearly when official sources are scattered across dozens of agencies and languages.
Data sources
Methodology
- Stats are scraped from WHO and CDC every 30 minutes by an automated backend.
- When sources disagree, the higher number is used (case counts only increase during an active outbreak).
- Timeline events require at least two independent sources before publication — typically a health authority plus a wire service.
- Map markers are manually curated and verified against official country notifications.
- All data is subject to revision. Corrections are noted when they occur.
Limitations
This tracker relies on publicly available data. Official agencies may withhold information during active investigations. Reporting delays, timezone differences and translation errors can affect accuracy. Numbers may differ between sources due to different case definitions. This dashboard is for awareness — it is not a substitute for official guidance from your national health authority.
